With much relief and a quiet joy we move slowly again towards a more natural and healthy way of living and working….If we follow the roadmap as written outdoor classes can begin again from Monday, 29 March so I shall be at Holywell in the Italian Gardens sharing Qigong at 11am on Thursday, 1st April followed by a dip in the sea for those that wish! All close contact services can begin to work again following covid safe protocols from Monday,12th April with studios and salons reopening and some home visits once again possible. Indoor classes and workshops, in a covid safe and risk assessed environment, can start once more on Monday, 17th May. If we emerge as planned from this lockdown the Well Being Centre could reopen for 1 to 1 sessions on Monday, 12th April and for classes and workshops from Monday,17th May. So once again we meet a another time of change, with some uncertainty, much positivity, with great courage and an open heart.

We trust that there are continued positive developments daily, that it is really okay to emerge anew carefully from our cocoons of protectiveness as we seek to find new ways to work and share our touch and healing work.

Our hearts go out to all those whose loved ones are seriously ill or who have passed away. We hope and pray for a healthy recovery for all those who are remain unwell.

As a member of the CNHC and the Shiatsu Society I shall continue to practise Shiatsu working from home, following all protocols as before in a covid safe environment.

Based on the advice the CNHC have received, CNHC Registrants in England meet the definition  of  “other…health services, including services relating to mental health” contained in Section 47, Part 3 of the Schedule to The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (England) (No. 4) Regulations 2020 and can therefore continue to practise.

This legal advice has taken into account that in Section 25E of the Health and Social Care Act 2012 practitioners on Accredited Registers are defined as engaged in work that includes the provision of healthcare.

Qigong , derived from the Chinese “qi” and “gong” means working with the life force  to develop  vitality, strength, and wellbeing. Qigong is also a path to greater self awareness and understanding of our true nature. Qigong, meaning ‘cultivating energy’, seeks to align the breath with movement and stillness to develop the bodymind and breath awareness for calming, exercise, healing, and meditation.
By turning our attention inwards to connect with the different parts of the body, we learn to establish a dialogue with our own body. This dialogue is both a new and ancient way to approach and experience ourselves. By becoming more aware of ourselves and our own energy we explore our connection with the powerful universal energies. When we begin to integrate all parts of ourselves and the universe, we promote our body’s innate ability to heal, maintain and regain optimal health.
Meditation has been practiced for thousands of years and can be done by people of all faith traditions or none. With the practice of meditation the mind settles and a sense of ease, tranquillity and joy arise. This can lead to insight and wisdom. The meditations are usually visualisation based, an inner journeying to develop and explore more about our inner world and create new awarenesses. It is also an opportunity  to learn and develop  some letting go and relaxation techniques to work with ourselves. Worth sharing again the inspirational and reassuring words of White Eagle, Hopi Indian Shaman with enormous gratitude

“This moment humanity is going through can now be seen as a portal and as a hole.  The decision to fall into the hole or go through the portal is up to you.  If they repent of the problem and consume the news 24 hours a day, with little energy, nervous all the time, with pessimism, they will fall into the hole.  But if you take this opportunity to look at yourself, rethink life and death, take care of yourself and others, you will cross the portal.  Take care of your home, take care of your body.  Connect with the middle body of your spiritual House.  Connect to the egregor of your spiritual home.  Body, house, medium body, spiritual house, all this is synonymous, that is to say the same.  When you are taking care of one, you are taking care of everything else.  Do not lose the spiritual dimension of this crisis, have the aspect of the eagle, which from above, sees the whole, sees more widely.  There is a social demand in this crisis, but there is also a spiritual demand.  The two go hand in hand.  Without the social dimension, we fall into fanaticism.  But without the spiritual dimension, we fall into pessimism and lack of meaning. You were prepared to go through this crisis.  Take your toolbox and use all the tools at your disposal.  Learn about resistance with indigenous and African peoples: we have always been and continue to be exterminated.  But we still haven’t stopped singing, dancing, lighting a fire and having fun.  Don’t feel guilty about being happy during this difficult time.  You don’t help at all by being sad and without energy.  It helps if good things emanate from the Universe now.  It is through joy that one resists.  Also, when the storm passes, you will be very important in the reconstruction of this new world.  You need to be well and strong.  And, for that, there is no other way than to maintain a beautiful, happy and bright vibration.  This has nothing to do with alienation.  This is a resistance strategy.  In shamanism, there is a rite of passage called the quest for vision.  You spend a few days alone in the forest, without water, without food, without protection.  When you go through this portal, you get a new vision of the world, because you have faced your fears, your difficulties … This is what is asked of you.  Let them take advantage of this time to perform their vision seeking rituals.  What world do you want to build for yourself?  For now, this is what you can do: serenity in the storm.  Calm down and pray.  Everyday.  Establish a routine to meet the sacred every day.  Good things emanate, what you emanate now is the most important thing.  And sing, dance, resist through art, joy, faith and love.”
