A new workshop offering a wonderful opportunity to find out  more about SHIATSU, the holistic Japanese bodywork therapy with its roots in traditional Oriental Medicine. This workshop is a gentle, fun and informal  introduction to the joys and pleasures of Shiatsu, with body and energy awareness exercises and a basic Shiatsu Kata/routine,working on the front and the back area, to practice on family and friends.                   YOGA, QIGONG and SHIATSU in AGISTRI, GREECE with Annie Cryar and Nick Neter

The wonderful Rosy’s Little Village on Agistri Island in Greece, about an hour by boat from Athens, is the perfect location for a relaxing, rejuvenating holiday retreat with daily yoga sessions, an opportunity to experience a Shiatsu treatment, as well as Qigong, the gentle, meditative Eastern  movement exercises. There will be plenty of free time to swim, snorkel, sunbathe, read and relax with delicious organic meals and stunning views!                               THE NEXT WALK IN SHIATSU CLINICS

We are now running  two a month due to increasing popularity and at two different venues, one in town during the week  at the Yogalife studio and  at the Natural Fitness Centre on Eastbourne seafront. The next WALK IN SATURDAY SHIATSU CLINIC is on SATURDAY 7th APRIL at the Natural Fitness Centre on the seafront, from 9am to 2pm. The next  WALK IN  WEDNESDAY SHIATSU CLINIC  is on WEDNESDAY, 25th APRIL  at the Yogalife Studio in  Eastbourne, from 9am to 12.30pm. Research increasingly shows that  SHIATSU is  a deeply relaxing and  revitalising healing therapy, with an increasingly important role to play in public health!  I have recently completed a research project at the University of Brighton  as part of a B’Sc in Multidisciplinary Heathcare and explored the effects of Shiatsu on back pain. I hope to publish the results this year and they are very good! A half hour treatment for a donation from £10.Amazingly good value.No booking necessary but is available  if required. If you can’t make the APRIL  clinics, the next ones are on Wednesday, 16th MAY in town and Saturday 5th MAY on the seafront…! And of course I am always available for treatments most weekdays, some Saturdays and some evenings most days of the week.

                             GENTLE EXERCISE AND RELAXATION Class

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 From WEDNESDAY, 4th APRIL, I shall be a running a Gentle Exercise and Relaxation class, rooted in the ancient practice of Qigong, at the WRVS at 24, Hyde Rd  in town  as well as one every MONDAY at the Natural Fitness Centre on the seafront.

 This is a cheerful and uplifting class for all ages and abilities that encourages self healing, ease of movement, relaxation and tension release as well as a wonderful sense of well being. These  gentle, relatively  easy and  effective exercises are rooted in the practice of Qigong, (cultivating energy), and are known to improve many aspects of health. These include

  • Coordination–Balance-Flexibility-Concentration
  • Posture and body awareness
  • General aches and pains
  • a sense of well being and more positive outlook on life

There is no lying down or mat work involved, all work being done upright or sitting on a chair. People with a variety of health problems  including diabetes, high blood pressure, osteoporosis and  arthritis regularily  use many of these exercises to improve their health. The first session is FREE.

 

                         SEATED ACUPRESSURE MASSAGE

Deeply relaxing and revitalizing Seated Acupressure massage is available at the Natural Fitness Centre on the first Monday of every month  in the evening from 5pm to 8.30pm. 10,20 and 30 minute treatments available at reasonable prices. FREE 10 minute tasters available this month and on Tuesday morning from 10.15am to 2.15 pm. Just walkin  and take your turn or book in….next one on Monday 2nd APRIL and Tuesday,3rd APRIL 2012

Seated Acupressure massage is  now internationally recognised as an very effective, enjoyable way to release stress especially  from the working environment, relieve  general aches and pains, especially in the shoulders,neck and back and engender a greater sense of well being and deep relaxation in a short period of time.
